Konklusion
Software/BIOS - 4
UK summary
The motherboard here is called "Force" which was the name of the big OC motherboard in the Z87 series, but this motherboard has not got a PLX chip and 16 phases power supply, but actually works very stripped as the OC motherboard I have compared it with.
Innovation/Technology - 4
I do not think that Gigabyte has delivered significant innovations with this motherboard, but it is also quite fine, because it has Z97 chipset which is the important thing here. The former OC series had what one could wish for, here Gigabyte then just thrown another network card and an isolated audio section on top.
Bundle/Accessories - 4
There is what is needed in the package, but not much more. The accompanying OC Brace is really nice, and the cables to read voltages is also great to have when it comes to overclocking.
Design/Layout - 4
The design is actually the same as in the previous series of OC motherboard, and it's a design that works really well, I especially like USB 2.0 ports located next to the SATA ports.
Software/BIOS - 4
The BIOS has become much easier for beginners to fiddle with. Should we just decide what is to be booted up, the new main menu is really good. However, I would like to have had the opportunity to set the XMP profile on RAM Startup Guide, since I still see many be confused by this option, and many do not actually running with their RAM's full speed, because they do not know the setting.
Performance - 4
We see that this OC board sometimes lags a little behind the gaming board, but in general it delivers very good performance.
Price - 4
The former Force board cost over 3000 DKK, so a price of just under 1500 DKK is destined to turn heads, but with the Z97 there will not be no PLX chip, which I find hard to understand. But the price is certainly very good, so we will not weep quite as much when it burns.
