Konklusion

Et allround fint bundkort som ikke stikker ud på hverken den ene eller anden måde, derfor er det også en lidt "waaa" smag jeg har tilbage i munden efter at have testet bundkoret. På ydelsessiden lægger den sig helt op ad de andre bundkort jeg har testet, men på featuresiden falder bundkortet helt igennem og tilbyder kun hvad der er aller mest nødvendigt.

Innovation/Teknologi - 2
Intet nyt under solen her, vi ser et bundkort med et Z97 chipset, hvilket er den nyeste teknologi på bundkortet. Ikke engang den nye M.2 sokkel eller SATA Express. 

Bundle/Tilbehør - 3
Der er hvad der skal bruges plus lidt ekstra godt, men ikke meget mere end det. 

Design/Layout - 3
Det er ikke noget vildt over dette bundkorts design. ASUS har mere eller mindre bare taget deres gamle Gryphon Z87 og sat et ny Z97 chipset på, så designet er jo hvad man synes om farveren samt muligheden for at pakke hele bundkortet ind i et TUF Shield.

Software/BIOS - 5
BIOS'en har endelig fået mulighed for at stille XMP profilen i EZ Mode, hvilket er en ting jeg har savnet siden det blev introduceret. Resten af BIOS'en har ikke rigtig ændret sig fra Z87 serien, men det har også virket rigtig godt dengang. ASUS AI Suite fungerer også rigtig godt.

Ydelse - 3
Bundkortet har en smule svært ved at følge med i flere benchmarks hvor det ender sidst, men forskellen er så lille at det nærmest ikke kan skyldes bundkortet. 

Pris - 3
Prisen for dette bundkort rammer lige ind hvor alle de andre mATX bundkort ligger. Umiddelbart betaler man lidt mere for TUF komponenter og ikke som sådan features som man ser på fx ASUS VIII GENE.

 

UK summary

An overall fine motherboard which does not differentiate itself in any way; this is why I am left with some mixed feelings after having tested this motherboard. From a performance point of view it is in line with the other boards I have tested, but when it comes to features it fails entirely and offers nothing but the most necessary.
 
Innovation/Technology - 2
Nothing new here. We get a motherboard with a Z97 chipset, which is the current technology on mobo’s, but not even the new M.2 socket or SATA Express. 
 
Bundle/Accessories - 3
There is what is necessary plus a bit extra, but not much more than that. 
 
Design/Layout - 3
There is nothing wild about the design of this motherboard. ASUS has more or less taken their old Gryphon Z87 and added the new Z97 chipset, so when it comes to design it depends on how you like the colors and a motherboard wrapped in a TUF Shield.
 
Software/BIOS - 5
In the BIOS it has finally been possible to set the XMP profile in EZ Mode, which is a thing I have missed ever since it was introduced. The rest of the BIOS has not really changed since the Z87 series, but it also worked quite well there. The ASUS AI Suite also works nicely.
 
Performance - 3
The board has a few problems keeping up with the cards it has been compared to. In several benchmarks it ends as the last. But the difference is so small that it hardly can be due to the motherboard itself. 
 
Price - 3
The price for this motherboard is essentially the same as the other mATX boards. You pay a bit more for the TUF components and not additional features as it is the case on e.g. ASUS VIII GENE.
