Konklusion
Cooler Master har med deres MasterKeys L lavet et solidt og lækkert keyboard, der med solid byggekvalitet og masser af muligheder for lysindstillinger og macro funktioner sigter efter et publikum, der ønsker lækker kvalitet til gaming og alm. brug, men i et nedtonet design der adskiller sig en anelse fra mange andre keyboards med ”Gaming” hæftet på reklamematerielet.
Der er masser gode tiltag, men også et par mangler der for nogen vil kunne give anledning til noget frustration, specielt i forhold til brug og opsætning af macro funktionerne.
Innovation / teknologi - 4
Der er ikke så meget nyt i forhold til selve tasterne, der er det velkendte CherryMX taster, som har vist deres værd. Cooler Master skaber dog et lækkert produkt med den indbyggede processor og hukommelse, der betyder at alle funktioner kan bruges uden behov for software.
Tilbehør - 3
Intet specielt her, men alt hvad man forventer og den medfølgende stofpose er lækker at have med, da Cooler Master uden tvivl beregner at MasterKeys er et produkt der skal med på farten.
Design - 3
Igen er MasterKeys ikke nyskabende, da det ligger sig tæt op af det velkendte standard design på et keyboard. Hvor Cooler Master skinner igennem er i forhold til deres implementering af RGB LED lyset, som er gjort på en lækker måde der skaber et klart og lækkert lys der komplimenterer den simple stil utroligt godt.
Ydelse – 5
Der er ikke en finger at sætte på ydelsen, som ikke på noget tidspunkt skuffede mig under testen. CherryMX tasterne fungerer upåklageligt og leverer lækker feedback og fornemmelse under brug, og LED lyset er bestemt noget af det bedste, jeg har set i et keyboard med klare og gode farver.
Det enkelt klagepunkt er dog den manglende mulighed for at redigerer og indstille macro funktionerne via software. Det kan ende med at være en frustrerende oplevelse at holde styr på sine macro funktioner, når man kun kan gøre det via genvejstaster direkte på tastaturet.
Software – 4
I forhold til indstillingen af LED lyset fungerer den medfølgende software utroligt godt. Det er let og lige til at bruge og muligheden for at se sine ændringer direkte på tasterne med det samme, gør det let at se hvad ændringerne ender med at betyde for udseendet. Ville dog være rart med mulighed for mulighed for oversigt over og redigering af macro funktionerne.
Pris – 3
Da MasterKeys er helt frisk på markedet har det ikke været muligt at finde en salgspris endnu., men ca. 1349,- dkr.
UK summary
Cooler Master has delivered a solid and nice looking keyboard with their MasterKeys. With a lot of options for custom RGB LED settings and macro functionality it aims at an audience wanting nice quality and good functionality but in a more casual design than we see in some other keyboards with “Gaming” attached in the PR material.
There´s a lot of good steps taken with the MasterKeys but also a couple of misses that might end up being a pain for some people especially when using and programming the macro functionality.
Innovation / technology - 4
There is nothing new about the CherryMX switches in themself as they have proven their worth already. The implementation of the RGB LED lighting by Cooler Master to work so well with the switches along with the internal processor and memory is great work and can eliminate the need for software altogether.
Bundle/Accessories - 3
Nothing special here but everything you would expect. The cloth bag is however nice to see as I get the impression that the MasterKey is a product that Cooler Master sees people taking with them.
Design - 3
Again the MasterKeys is not innovative with the design that is close to the standart design found in keyboards for a long time now. Where Cooler Master makes the MasterKeys shine is with the implementation of the RGB LED light and it’s easily some of the best I have seen on a keyboard. The colors are bright and vibrant and fits the low key design very well.
Performance - 5
I have no complaints about the performance and the MasterKeys keyboard did at no point during the testing let me down. The CherryMX switches performed like a dream and had a nice tactile feel.
The only thing I missed was the option to be able to edit my macros with the software. It could get a little frustrating to try to figure out the different macos when the only option was with shortcut on the keyboard. I hope it’s added later.
Software – 4
In relation to the LED light settings, the software works incredibly well. It is easy and straightforward to use and the ability to see the changes directly on the keys at once, making it easy to see what the changes end up mean for appearance Would be nice with the option of opportunity for overview and editing macro functions.
Price – 3
Since the MasterKeys keyboards are brand new on the market it hasn’t been possible to get at retail Price, but about 1349,- dkr.
