Test: AData Gammix S11 480GB M.2 SSD

Konklusion

M.2 SSD'er er kommet rigtig langt på meget kort tid. ADATA har udstyret deres SX8200 serie med en flot køleprofil, og kalder den så for Gammix S11. Indmaden er den samme nemlig TLC flashram fra Micron, og en Silicon Motion controller med 8 kanaler. Skal vi dømme efter testen er det en ganske kraftig kombination, og prisen er forholdsvis lav i kraft af ramtypen. Læg 5 års garanti oveni, så begynder det faktisk at ligne noget fornuftigt.
 

Innovation/Teknologi - 5
ADATA viser at de godt kan være med helt fremme på teknikken. Micron TLC flashram og en SMI controller fra øverste hylde lader til at være en vinder. Det er kun de bedste af Samsungs, der koster en hel del mere, der kan være med her.

Ydelse - 4
Der er ikke meget at brokke sig over. Der er virkelig smæk på og ADATA viser os hvad der er muligt med NVMe standarden i dag. Gammix S11 yder 3000 MB/s læse- og 1700 MB/s på skriveoperationer ganske som lovet.

Pris - 4
Med en pris på lige under 1500 DKK for 480GB synes jeg at ADATA lægger sig et rigtig godt sted. Skal man have en SATA SSD med samme kapacitet skal man af med mellem 900 og 1200 afhængig af model, så at give en plovmand ekstra og få NVMe hastigheder synes jeg bestemt er rigtig godt givet ud.

UK summary

The M.2 type SSD have come a long way in a short time. ADATA have mounted a heatsink on their SX8200 series, and now calls it Gammix S11. The hardware is the same. TLC nand flash memory from Micron and a Silicon Motion 8 channel controller. Judging from our test that is a winning combination, and the pricetag is fairly low due to the use of TLC memory. Now add 5 year warranty and this is starting to look really nice.

ADATA show that they are indeed capable in the tech department. Micron flash memory and a lightning fast 8 channel SMI controller is a winning combo. Only the best af Samsung, at a very different pricetag, can keep up. 

Performance - 4
There is not much to complain about when we talk performance. ADATA Gammix S11 clearly show us what is possible with the NVMe
standard, boasting a 3000 MB/s read- and 1700 MB/s write performance as promised.

Price - 4
With a 1500 DKK pricetag, ADATA hits the sweet spot for me. If you want a SATA SSD with the same 480 GB  capacity its around 900 to 1200 DKK, so to add that little extra and get the blazing NVMe speeds is a bargain if you ask me.
