Test: Shuttle SN21G5

Konklusion

Har du brug for en lille prisbillig barebone til kontoret så er SN21G5 værd at overveje. Særligt nu hvor AMD har dumpet priserne på deres cpu'er skulle der være mulighed for at finde et godt tilbud.

Innovation / Teknologi - Et chipset med integreret grafik er set før og nforce 410 gør ikke noget større for at skille sig ud fra konkurrenterne fra f.eks SIS og ATI. SN21G5 indeholder hvad man kan tænkes at få brug for ved kontorbrug, og hvis man synes der mangler noget er der plads til udvidelseskort. 3 point.

Bundle / Tilbehør - Det er ikke nogen stor bunke tilbehør der følger med, men da alle kabler er trukket inde i maskinen fra fabrikken er det nok begrænset hvad vi kan forlange. Og der er heller ikke plads til narrestreger i det lille G5 kabinet. 3 point.

Design / Layout - Det efterhånden bedagede G5 kabinet er stadig en lækker sag i kraft af sit stilrene design og alu finish. Eneste minus er den begrænsede plads ved grafiksoklen, der ikke tillader 3. parts low-noise køling af sit grafikkort. 4 point.

Software / BIOS - Der er ikke noget at udsætte på BIOS. Den indeholder alle standardfunktioner og har en overskuelig overclokingmenu også. ikke meget mere at sige til den. XPC tools programmet er glimrende til at overvåge temperatur og blæserhastighed. Desværre virker OC delen ikke på Shuttles SN modeller. 3 point.

Ydelse - Ydelsen er god, dog uden at være verdensrekordtempo. Det indbyggede grafikkort egner sig ikke til Quake4 of den slags spil, men til kontorbrug er der rigeligt med kræfter. 3 point

Pris - Vi fandt den på nettet til 2266kr, og til den pris er maskinen et godt køb. Så er der også råd til at opgradere grafikken hvis det bliver aktuelt. 4 point.

If you are looking for a cheap barebone for the homeoffice SN21G5 is worth a shot. Especially now that AMD have lowered their prices on cpus, you should be able to find a decend bargain.

SN21G5 contains what you will need for home office use, and if you still think something is missing there is room left for pci/pcie expansion cards. 3 points.

Bundle / AccessoriesThere is not a huge pile of extras included, but bare in mind that all cables are already in place inside the enclosure. There really is not room for at lot of cardreaders, clocks or displays in the tiny G5 box. 3 points.

Design / Layout - The aging G5 enclosure is still charming to look at due to the no nonsense design and aluminum finish. The only real minus is the limited space by the pcie socket that will not allow 3rd party low-noise gfx cooling to install.

Software / BIOS - BIOS contains all the standard functions needed and a nice tweaking menu as well. Not a lot more to say about that really. The XPC Tools programme is excellent for monitoring temperatures and fanspeed. Unfortunately the OC functions do not work with Shuttles SN series. 3 points.

Performance - The overall performance is good without trying to set any worls records. The onboard gfx is not ment for Quake4 and the likes, but for home office use there is plenty of power. 3 points.

Price At a mere 300_ this machine is a bargain. If you need to upgrade the onboard gfx chances are you will have a little extra to spend. 4 points.
