Test: ASRock B550 Steel Legend

Konklusion

Dette ASROCK B550 STEEL LEGEND bundkort har, selvom det ikke er et af topbundkortene i ASROCKS bundkort serier, faktisk opført sig helt fint i testperioden. Det er et bundkort i mellemklassen til under 1500 Kr. og ud fra den pris gør det nu sit arbejde ganske godt. Det lyder næsten for godt at ASROCK kan levere en ægte strømforsyning med 13+1 faser til den ret lave pris. Dette er lidt lige meget, fordi det yder nu ganske som de andre B550 bundkort og det er jo det der betyder noget. Ingen udfald eller sær opførsel fra dette bundkort, det kører eksemplarisk. Dette bundkort kan jeg roligt anbefale til en heftig Gamer PC.
 

Innovation/Teknologi - 4
Her bydes ikke på helt vild ny teknologi, men derimod på komponenter og teknologi som er kendt i forvejen og dermed også testet for god holdbarhed og stabilitet. Dog gives der lidt for PCIe 4 på både grafik og storage, samt selvfølgelig det nye B550 Chipsæt.

Bundle/Tilbehør - 3
Her er hvad man kan forvente og det er ikke vildt meget. Der er dog software til at overclocke, styre RGB LED Striber og diverse andre småprogrammer til f.eks. at genstarte til BIOS.

Design/Layout - 4
Designet er lidt pudsigt, da jeg ikke er specielt meget til camouflage og striber på tværs, men OK et 4 tal kan jeg godt komme op på her.

Software/BIOS - 4
BIOS'en er for så vidt rigtig fin og let at navigere i så den kan godt få et 4 tal, og den medfølgende software synes jeg er begyndt at se fornuftig ud.

Ydelse - 4
Ydelsen ligger næsten på højde med og nogen steder lidt over ASUS bundkortet, så her må det blive et 4 tal.

Pris - 4
Prisen synes jeg er rigtigt god for dette mainstream B550 bundkort. Man har formået at udnytte alle chipsettets muligheder for SATA og M.2 samt USB 3.2 stik så man får et hæderligt bundkort med dette ASROCK B550 Steel Legend.

UK summary

This ASrock B550 STEEL LEGEND motherboard has, even though it’s not among the top tier motherboards of ASrock, actually run quite nicely during this test. It’s a motherboard in the mid-tier segment under 1500,- dkr, and with the price taken into account, it does a decent job. It almost sounds too good to be true, that ASrock can deliver a motherboard in this segment with a 12+2 phase powersolution, but even though they are only using 50A Dr MOS chips and a cheap controller, it doesn’t matter, because it performs just as the other B550s from other manufactures, and that’s what matters. I didn’t encounter any hiccups or anything of the sort during my tests, it just ran as I was supposed to. The motherboard is easy to recommend for a Gamer PC.
 

Innovation/Technology - 4
It doesn’t offer any new wild technology but relies on components and technology which is well-known and therefore guaranties durability and stability. I’ll give it some points extra for PCIe 4.0 for both GPU and storage.

Bundle/Accessories - 3
You get what is needed to get going and not much else. But you’ll get software to ocerclock, control RGB lighting and a small assortment of small programs – for example a program that boots to BIOS.

Design/Layout - 4
The design is a bit odd, because I don’t really like the camo and stripes across the board, but OK, I will still give it a 4.

Software/BIOS - 4
The bios is as such good and easy to navigate, so I will award it with 4 points, and the bundled software is also beginning to look quite good.

Performance - 4
The performance is nearly on par and in some places a bit above the ASUS cards, so I’ll reward it 4 points.

Price - 4
I think the price for this mainstream B550 motherboard is good. ASrock as managed to take advantage of all the features in the chipset with SATA, M.2 and USB 3.2, so you’ll get a decent motherboard with the ASrock B550 Steel Legend.
