USB 3.1 er ankommet, og det tilbyder ikke kun højere hastighed ligesom USB 3.0 gjorde over USB 2.0, det tilbyder også dobbelt så mange ampere igennem type-C, som endelig kan vende begge veje. Ja, du læste rigtigt, en USB enhed skal nu ikke vendes 3 gange før den passer, nu passer den første gang!

Ligesom tidligere generation bundkort fra ASRock har bundkortet her fået en Ultra M.2 sokkel der leverer op til hele 32Gb/s igennem 4 PCIe 3.0 baner.

Bundkortet har også fået Purity Sound fra ASRock. Det betyder at bundkortet har en ALC1150-chip fra Realtek, der er udstyret med et EMI-cover, der beskytter mod elektrisk støj. Lyddelen af bundkortet er også isoleret således at elektrisk støj fra påmonterede komponenter fjernes.

Med ASRock's Hyper BCLK Engine er det muligt at indstille BCLK hastigheden meget mere præcis, hvilket giver mere kontrol over systemet, og det er samtidig muligt at hæve BCLK endnu højere end Intel's specifikationer.

På grund af at bundkortet har et nyt chipset og kun benytter sig af USB porte fra dette chipset, har Windows 7 ikke driverne hertil. Et problem jeg selv blev mødt med da jeg skulle i gang med bundkortet. Windows installation ville ikke reagere på musebevægelser eller tryk på tastaturet, indtil det medfølgende program Win 7 USB Patcher blev brugt. Det tillader dig at installerer de nødvendige USB drivere, det kræver dog at man har Windows 7 liggende som ISO fil, ellers skal man selv lave en ud fra sin CD, og brænde en ny CD.

ASRock har været godt i gang med at sikre bundkortet fra for høj spænding i forskellige situationer. Dette kan være lynnedslag eller statisk elektricitet.

OMG (Online Management Guard) kan deaktivere internetforbindelsen på bestemte tidspunkter samt udelukke bestemt indhold fra Internettet.

Dehumidifieren (Affugteren, red.) er der ikke meget at finde om. Det er en funktion der kan bruges hvis der er meget fugt i luften. Med den vil starte systemet op, og inden BOOT fjerne fugt fra bundkortet, og bliver ved med at holde fugten væk fra bundkortet mens systemet kører. ASRock har selv testet hvor godt det virker, og det var ifølge dem muligt ved 70 procents luftfugtighed, at komme ned på blot 40% fugt på bundkortet.

Betyder det, at man ikke kan installere windows, hvis man ikke har et optisk drev? Lidt problematisk synes jeg, men måske går det bedre med Win10?

For lige at gøre det kort:
Der er ingen USB 2.0 porte på dettte bundkort.
Windows 7 er så gammelt at der ikke er USB 3.0 drivere i installationsfilen, så når du tilslutter diverse ting til USB porten virker det ikke.

For at komme udover det problem, bruger man det medfølgende program til at ændre installationsfilen således du netop får USB 3.0 drivere i din installationsfil.

Windows 10 har allerede USB 3.0 drivere fra starten.
