Test: Shuttle XPC Nano NC01U barebone

Konklusion

Shuttle XPC Nano NC01U bød på mange overraskelser, både positive og negative. Af de positive er dens lille størrelse, design, antal porte og ikke mindst, at med den opsætning, som test eksemplaret har, startede NC01U op i Windows 10 inden, at cirklen nåede en omgang. Dette er imponerende taget i betragtning, at det er en lille Intel Celeron CPU. Resultaterne af testen er også gode taget i betragtning, at det er så lille en maskine, der beregnet til diverse kontorarbejde og industri, men som også nemt ville kunne tjene som mediecenter. BIOS er fornuftigt bygget op og den kan lige præcis det, som den skal kunne. Dog finder jeg støjen fra blæseren lidt for høj, når den virkelig kommer på arbejde, dog har jeg ikke oplevet, at den gik op i højeste gear under testene. Støjen har ikke på noget tidspunkt under testen virket irriterende. Den opmærksomme læser har bemærket, at der denne gang ikke er nogen software sektion. Dette skyldes ikke, at der ikke følger nogen DVD med i bundlen, men fordi der er ikke er taget højde for Windows 10, dermed vises der ikke noget skærmbillede med mulighed for at installere drivere til Windows 10. Driverne, som er brugt stammer fra Shuttles hjemmeside, hvor drivere til Windows 10 kan findes.

UK summary

Shuttle XPC Nano NC01U presented many surprises, both positive and negative. Of the positive is its small size, design, number of ports and especially that with the setup in the test sample, NC01U started up in Windows 10 before the circle was completed. This is impressive considering that it is a small Intel Celeron CPU. The results of the test are also good considering that it is such a small machine, which is designed for various office and industry work, but also easily could serve as a media center. BIOS is nicely built up and it can, what it is supposed to do. However, I find the noise from the fan a little too high, when it is in its highest setting. However, I have not experienced it went into overdrive during the tests. The noise has not at any time during the tests been annoying. The attentive reader will have noticed that this time there is no software section. This is not due to lack of a DVD in the bundle, but because Windows 10 is not accounted for, so there will be no screen with the option to install drivers for Windows 10. The drivers that are used are downloaded from Shuttle's website where drivers for Windows 10 can be found.

The bundle is greater than what we usually see. It is great that Shuttle has chosen to provide both stand and VESA mount.

I do not have so much to say about the software, so I have chosen not to take this into consideration for the grading. But BIOS deserves a 3, as that are what you need.

Performance - 4

Performance is good taking the size into account. The results of the tests were good with the hardware considered.
