Konklusion

Panasonics Toughpad er noget anderledes end de gængse tablets på markedet, men til professionelle i barske miljøer er den et oplagt valg. Den har bestemt sine meritter hvad angår kvalitet, holdbarhed og ydelse, og kunne også sagtens anvendes til private brugere hvis det skulle være. Designet er ikke det mest prangende i verden, og med den høje kvalitet følger også et stort prisskilt.
 

Innovation/Teknologi - 3
Specifikationerne er fine og passende for en professionel tablet, og de gode tilslutningsmuligheder samt mulighed for tilpasning trækker også op.

Bundle/Tilbehør - 3
Der følger normalt ikke det store med en tablet, og det gør der egentlig heller ikke her. En stylus og en pudseklud er dog værd at tage med.

Design/Layout - 3
Toughpadden har et industrielt design, hvor det primære er funktionalitet og holdbarhed. Modulopbygningen gør det muligt at tilpasse hvis man har specielle behov, og man kan endda selv udskifte batteriet, hvilket man ellers sjældent ser.   

Software - 4
Android-implementeringen er minimalistisk og uden unødigt gejl - hvilket jeg anser som et plus. De enkelte ekstra apps er velvalgte og frem for alt ikke påtrængende, som pre-installerede apps ofte er, så det bliver et pænt firetal.  

Ydelse - 4
Ydelsen er bestemt i den bedre ende, men de nyeste smartphones og tablets som Microsoft Surface yder dog stadig bedre.   

Pris - 2
Med en pris på op mod 13.000 kr som privatkøber skal man have den helt store tegnebog op af lommen. Tilsvarende tablets som f.eks. Fujitsus Stylistic Industrial koster dog ca. det samme, så det bliver alligevel til et to-tal.

The Panasonic Toughpad challenges the generic recipe for a tablet and is an obvious choice for professionals working in tough environments. Its strongest sides are quality, durability and performance, and wouldn’t be a bad choice for consumers as well. Although the design probably will not appeal to everyone, and it does come at a very heavy cost.

Innovation/Technology - 3
The specifications should suit most professional users, and so should the ports as well as the customization posibilities.

Bundle/Accessories - 3
Usually tablets does not come with a large pile of accessories, which is also the case here, although we do get a stylus and a cloth for polishing

Design/Layout - 3
The design of the Toughbook can be labeled as industrial with an emphasis on functionality and durability. Modularity is a key design feature and you can even exchange the battery yourselves, which is a rare thing nowadays.

Software - 4
The Android-implementation is minimalistic and without any modifications which I consider to be a positive thing. Panasonic have added a few apps of their own, which are useful and most importantly not annoying which some of these pre-installed apps can be.

Performance - 4
With regards to performance this Toughbook is definitely among the better, but it can't compete with the latest generation of high end smartphones and tablets like the Microsoft Surface.  

Price - 2
To buy this as a consumer you will have to get out the big wallet and pay almost 13.000 DKK. Other industrial-grade tablets like the Fujitsus Stylistic Industrial are however in the same price range, which leads me to a grade of two.
