To begin with, we'll do a normal comparison, and afterwards we have something very special on the program, the clock-by-clock comparisons, where we've gathered almost everything we could get our hands on of CPU's from both Intel and AMD. All these clock-by-clock tests have been done at 3.0 GHz for all CPU's. Later we're going to clock even higher, to find out exactly how much can be squeezed out of the processor. We'll begin with looking at the Phenom II X3 720 Black Edition to see how well it does at stock-speeds versus the following processors:

AMD Phenom 9950 BE
AMD Phenom II X4 810

Put against the opponents, it is nice to see the X3 perform just aswell as the topmodel of the previous generation and also its new big brother, the Phenom II  X4 810, although it is running at 2.6 GHz, which is 200 MHz slower than the X3. Lightsmark is roughly the only test where the X3 pulls away from the pack, except in Crysis, where it actually accomplishes scoring the best minimum framerate. In the multicore tests (Cinebench - SiSoft Sandra), there's less than 25% from the X4 810 down to the X3 720, and the three cores are all being used to the fullest.
