Test: Dialogue Flybook A33i

Konklusion

Det er på alle måder en fantastisk lille maskine Dialogue har fået lavet. Jeg er overrasket over dens enorme potentiale til at kunne indvirke i hele min hverdag uanset, hvor jeg er. Jeg er ganske simpelt forbløffet.
Maskinen har vist sig at være nyttig, men uden det store kraftoverskud. Så maskinen er altså ikke til computerspil. Video og film er dog intet problem. Alt i alt formår Flybook'en sagtens at håndtere dagligdagens strabadser, hvis man altså ikke skal spille.

Maskinen er primært designet til at skrive på og fremvisning af præsentationer osv. - alt sammen hovedsageligt businessarbejde og hertil er Flybook'en eminent. Hvis jeg kom i en skolesituation, hvor bærbar var en fordel ville jeg klart vælge en maskine i denne størrelsesorden. Jeg har nu næsten skrevet artiklen færdig og jeg er blevet rigtig ferm til det lille tastatur og har ikke længere problemer med at ramme den rigtige 'shift'-tast.



Innovation / Teknologi
Der er i den grad noget nyskabende i denne maskine. Alene størrelsen er fantastisk, de mange indbyggede features (Bluetooth, WiFi og GPRS) er heller ikke noget vi ser ved alle bærbare som standard.
Maskinen er over 90% af tiden passivt kølet fordi blæseren står stille = ingen støj. Kan man forlange mere?
Jeg er så overud tilfreds med produktet at jeg ikke kan give andet end et stort 5-tal. Kunne jeg give mere gjorde jeg det gerne.

Bundle / Tilbehør
Jeg savner ikke rigtig noget. Jeg havde gerne set et DVD-drev til Flybook'en i ekstern format som standard i pakken, men ellers savner jeg heller ikke noget. Der er taske med som standard. Masser af software. Det manglende drev gør dog at jeg ikke kan give mere end 4, men bundlen er større end standard.

Design / Layout
Personligt er jeg vild med Flybook'ens design og tilmed også den orange farve. Den skiller sig ud fra mængden, men den leveres selvfølgelig i mange forskellige farver, hvilket alene trækker op i sig selv.
Jeg er også ganske tilfreds med placeringen af de forskellige knapper og taster. Eneste punkt jeg kan kritisere på er at jeg gerne havde set at man kunne programmere et sæt af de fire musetaster, men dette er ene og alene en smagssag. Herudover kan jeg ikke finde noget at sætte en finger på. Dialogue har virkelig gennemtænkt dette produkt og jeg giver igen et 5-tal for den overraskende præstation.

Software / BIOS
Der er masser af software med. Windows XP, Flybook's programmer, drivere og 3.parts software. Der er i alt 3 CD'er med i pakken og som før sagt er det eneste jeg kunne savne er en officepakke.
Tilmed savner jeg også stadig en advarselstone når man modtager en SMS. Generelt gør det sig dog gældende af Flybook softwaren som den skal og jeg ikke oplever problemer som forbruger.
Da en officepakke ikke er standard ved alle maskiner vil jeg alligevel give Flybook'en 4 i denne kategori.

Ydelse
Flybook'en levere ikke de gode resultater, hvis man er gamer. Jeg vil dog bedømme maskinen ud fra hvad den er designet til, hvilket betyder at man skal se bærbaren i et lidt andet lys. Maskinen levere nemlig en ganske fornuftig kraft til de opgaver jeg så mange gange har omtalt. Tekstbehandling, regneark og præsentationer osv. Her har jeg endnu ikke fundet noget den ikke kunne lide.
Selv når jeg har set film på den har der ikke været nogen problemer selv om den lille processor har været nødt til at software decode.
Det jeg rent faktisk prøver at sige er at jeg ikke har kunnet 'knække' maskinen ved de opgaver den er designet til. Installationer er det værste, hvor maskinen kan være lidt langsommere end gennemsnittet til at pakke ud osv. Jeg giver alligevel 4.

Pris
Om 15.999 er en pris du vil betale for en bærbar skal være op til dig. Hvis jeg skal bedømme det ud fra Flybook'ens specifikationer og egenskaber må jeg tilstå at jeg selv gerne ville betale prisen for de ydelser jeg modtager til gengæld. GPRS-funktionen gør dig fuldt ud mobil uden at du har brug for indstikskort og andet gøjl. Igen er størrelsen på maskinen også en årsag til at nogle måtte vælge denne maskine frem for andre.
Men set i lyset af at en maskine til 6-7.000 levere samme kraft som denne vil mange nok vælge den frem for Flybook'en til trods for dens super egenskaber.

Jeg ville gerne give 3,5 men det kan jeg ikke så Flybook'en må nøjes med 3 i denne omgang.

UK Summary

It is in many ways a fantastic little machine Dialogue has come up with. I am surprised by its enormous potential to have influence on my work no matter where I am. I am very amazed.
The machine is shown to be very useful, but without much extra power. Therefore the machine isn't for gaming. Video and movies is however no problem. Overall the Flybook is capable to handle everyday life's hardships, if you are not going to play computer games.

The machine is primarily designed for word processing and presentations and so on - all of them mainly business work and for this purpose the Flybook is eminent. If I came in a school situation where a laptop would be an advantage I would choose a computer in this scale. I have nearly finished my article and I have become really handy with the small keyboard and I don't have problems hitting the right 'shift'-key anymore.

Innovation / Technology
There is in any ways something innovative about this product. The size alone is fantastic and the many build-in features (Bluetooth, WiFi and GPRS) is not something you see in all laptops as standard.
The laptop is in over 90 percent of the time passive cooled because the fan is off = no noise. Can you ask for more?
I am so satisfied with the product that I can't give anything else than a score of 5. If I could give a higher score I would do it.

Bundle / Accessories
Really I don't miss anything. I would have been glad of an external DVD drive for the Flybook as standard with the bundle but otherwise I don't miss anything. There is a small bag coming along for the Flybook and a lot of software. The missing drive however makes it impossible to give the Flybook maximum score. I give a score of 4 because the bundle is bigger than normal.

Design / Layout
Personally I am crazy about the Flybook's design and even the orange colour. It makes the Flybook look different than all the others on the market. The Flybook comes in many different colours which gives bonus to the grade of this category.
I am also quite happy about the placement of the different buttons and keys. The only thing I can criticise about is that I would have loved if you could program one of the two sets of mouse buttons but this is a matter of taste. In addition to this I can't find anything else I would like to comment. Dialogue has really thought about the design of this product and I give a score of 5 for the astonishing effort.

Software / BIOS
There is a lot of software coming along with the Flybook. Windows XP, Flybook's own programs, drivers and 3.part software. All over there is 3 CD's in the bundle and as I said before the only thing I miss is an office pack.
Furthermore I also miss a king of warning when you receive a SMS. In general the Flybook software works just fine and I have not had any problems yet.
Because an office pack isn't standard in the bundle for all laptops I give the Flybook a score of 4 in this category.

Performance
The Flybook doesn't deliver the best results if you are a gamer. I will judge the laptop by what it has been designed for, which means that you have to look at the laptop in a different angle.
The machine actually delivers good performance for the assignment I have been talking about many times. Word processing, spreadsheets and presentations and so on. I haven't been able to crash the machine yet by working with these types of jobs.
Even when I have been watching movies on the laptop there haven't been any problems even if the little processor had to software decode.
What I am trying to tell is that I haven't been able to break the performance of the machine by the purposes it is designed for. Installations are the worst kind of job because the machine is a little slower than average for extracting files and so on. I give a score of 4.

Price
If 15.999 DKR is a price you want to spend on a laptop should be up to you. If I have to judge I would look at the specifications and the properties and I must confess that I would gladly pay the price for the services the Flybook comes with. The GPRS function makes you fully mobile without using any inserted cards and so on. The size of the laptop is also one of the reasons why you should choose this product instead of another.
But when you look at other laptops you can get the same performance for 6-7.000 DKR so many would choose one of them instead of the Flybook in spite of the many super qualities.

I would love to give a score of 3.5 but I can't so the Flybook gets a score of 3 this time.
