Let us start with the 2 classics. 3DMark is a graphic test, and PCMkar tests the whole system, including harddisks etc. Standard settings.
Lightsmark works with graphics and, as the name emplies, especially with light effects. 1280*1024 fullscreen.
Cinebench works with graphics and CPU, both with single core and dual core. We also get an OpenGL test in this test.
The tough Crysis CPU test 1280*1024, High, 8xAA
SuperPI is a mathmatic test, which calculates millions of decimals on the number PI.
Sisoft Sandra's test gives us a genuine count of how fast the CPU can work.
Another mathmatic test, which contains a serie of small tests. 1280*1024
Let us add an additional game test, in the form of Prey. 1280*1024 16xAni/ 4x AA
Eventhough the board does not have the opportunity to overclock in the BIOS, we can still do it with the AMD Overdrive.
2900 MHz (200 x 14.5) was what we could get out of this system, eventhough the CPU has been tested at 3100 Mhz earlier, but this is not the boards fault.
However the obtained overclocking is still quite useful, which we are about to see.
There is a quite noticable difference, and the onboard graphics can still keep up, with a little over 1200 Marks in 3DMark06
Lightsmark likes to be overclocked. The onboard graphic is in the low end as expected, matched against the HD 4870 card.
It looks a little better in Cinebench, where the overclocking looks really nice, and the onboard graphic manages to keep up in the OpenGL test.
Once again we get a noticable result. Again the onboard graphic suffers, when it comes to heavy graphics.
SuperPI also delivers a quite improved result. With the onboard graphics enabled, a share of the RAM becomes dedicated to this, which gives a slightly lower score.
Sisoft Sandra does not fully agree however, and weighs the onboard graphic heavier then the 4870 card.
ScienceMark also indicates that the dedicated RAm for the graphics has an influence.
Finally a test of the game Prey, which summarises that the onboard graphic is not meant for heavy grahics.
The summary of this test, will follow on the next page.
