Endnu en omgang med et nForce4 baseret bundkort til Intel processorer er overstået. Kortet var denne gang fra Gigabyte og i vanlig stil, skuffer gigabyte bestemt ikke på hverken indpakning eller tilbehør. Af positive ting kan her nævnes bl.a. den medfølgende Bluetooth dongle og ikke mindst den valgfrie blæser til nordbroen.
Rent layoutmæssigt syntes jeg Royal kortet bærer præg af, at det ikke er helt gennemarbejdet, inden det blev sendt på markedet. At jeg ikke kunne få plads til de to Leadtek 6800GT grafikkort på grund af disse korts store køler, er ikke enestående for nForce4-SLI kort, men at Gigabytes eget U-Plus system kommer i direkte karambolage med chipset køleren, er simpelthen ikke godt nok.
Rent ydelsesmæssigt ligger Gigabyte GA-8N-SLI Royal sig rigtig fornuftigt mellem de øvrige testede kort af samme slags, så her er der ingen smalle steder. Til gengæld må jeg igen konstatere, at Gigabytes Intel processor bundkort, efter min vurdering, ikke er bundkort man bør anskaffe sig, hvis man har lyst til at overclocke og tweake lidt på sit system.
Alt i alt, et rimeligt fornuftigt bundkort med en god ydelse og masser af tilbehør, som dog ikke ligger i den billige ende af klassen.
UK Summary
Another testing round with an nForce4 Intel edition motherboard is over. This time Gigabyte was the contributor and, as usual, neither the wrapping nor the accessories are a dissapointment. Stuff like the included Bluetooth dongle and the configurable northbridge cooler are major plusses.
However I do think the motherboard layout needs some more work before I can recommend it fully. The fact that I was unable to install the two Leadtek 6800GT cards, due to the large coolers on those two cards, is not unique for an nForce4-SLI system. But to have Gigabytes own U-Plus system interfear with the NB-cooler is just not good enough.
On the performance side the Gigabyte GA-8N-SLI Royal motherboard places itself on par with most other nForce4 systems we have tested, and we did not find any flaws in that area. But once again I must conclude that Gigabytes Intel processor motherboards, in my opinion, is not worth buying if you love tweaking and overclocking your system.
But all in all a resonably good motherboard with good performance and a lot of accessories, but not in the cheap end though.
