ASUS har opgraderet deres 4-vejs optimering til nu at optimere 5 ting i stedet for 4. Bundkortet lærer hvordan du bruger din computer og finder ud af hvornår du har brug for CPU kræften og sørger for at overclocke CPUen. Og når det ikke er nødvendigt, bliver der sparret så meget på strømmen som muligt. Der er selvfølgelig også stadig blæserstyring og digitale VRM moduler. Som noget nyt ser vi, at der nu også kommer software til både lyd og netværk som hjælper med at leverer en god spiloplevelse, selvom der f.eks. bliver hentet ting i baggrunden, og lyden kan indstilles efter hvilken slags spil der spilles.
 


 

Lyddelen har også fået en mindre opgradering. Vi ser stadig Realtek's ALC 1150 audio codec med et EMI skjold over, som vi så i Z87 serien, men i selve printet af bundkortet har højre og venstre kanal af lyden fået sit eget lag der skulle eliminere endnu mere støj i lyden.

ASRock Z97 Extreme 3 koster ikke meget mere, men ville jeg klart foretrække....De hundrede kroner merpris giver mig lige lidt mere tryghed ved at have optisk udgang og flere porte, samt bedre helhedsindtryk.

Måske er det også fordi jeg med ASRock både med Z87 Extreme 3 og 4, plus mit nuværende Z97 Extreme 6 kun har positive oplevelser, ikke kun her i huset, men også hos dem jeg har hjulpet til nye maskiner, det sidste års tid.
