Test: Zotac 8800GT UK

 

The driver used for this test is version 158.19, but the pictures and the descriptions will be from version 97.92 and a 8800GTS card. There should not be any major changes from version 97.92 to 158.19 when talking pure interface.

 

Standard the driver is set to the Nvidia control panel and it is not possible to change to classic mode of the control panel. As standard it is set to ”Basic” but in all the following screenshots they are set to show advanced settings. It is also possible to install something called nTune and that adds further possibilities, but if i dont tell you in advance that it is not nTune that is installed in the following.

 

 

 

 

 

When you open Nvidias control panel, you get the option to go into 3 menus where the 3d setting are the most exciting for us. ”Screen” are for the people that wish to select setting if you have 2 screens or more or to setup tv out.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Here we see the content of the 3D setup menu and to the right you can select inbetween performance and quality. I have put it on quality during all the tests.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The more interesting menu. Here you can (if you want to) force AA/AF, vSynch and other performance related setups. You can at the same time make profiles for different programs, so that certain games or programs always runs withfull AA/AF.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Here can you as said before change the screen setup, add mutiple screens and change color settings.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Finally we look at how you can change alot of items through the icon in the lower right corner. In the picture above we see how one can change resolution(i have 2 monitors,thats why there is both display 1 and 2), but you can also change performance settings…like forcing AA/AF.
