Conclusion:
Innovation and Technology: 4
Linksys gets another positive mention for trying with the draft for 802.11n and the routers massive choices for setup also counts very highly on the positive side.
Bundle and accessories: 3
You dont really get swamped with accessories. A stand for the router,a RJ-45 Cable,a driver cd and a quick installation guide. Pretty much the same as you get with Trendnets solution for their draft 802.11n.
Design and Layout: 4
The design of the router is very nice and clear and above the WRT300N. Only 2 antennas and the small powersuply, are clear improvements. We have earlier mentioned the netcard and gave it praise for its simplictic design without external antennas. Only gripe is that you cant wall mount the router.
Software: 3
Both good and bad. Linksys own utility is always very good and deserves mention. Does use a bit of memory, but nothing than that cant you really fault this item. Works like a charm and gives alot of useable information. Still a little too cumbersome to install and it draws down a little on the overall rating.
The interface of the router is still somewhat of an achilles heal for Linksys but it has improved a little since WRT300N
and there are still more possibilities in the interface.
Performance: 4
The performance are really good here,we have not as of yet tested this fast a network.
Linksys has corrected the faults from WRT300N and to boot it has also a very fast speed on encrypted traffic now.
Very nice performance indeed.
Price: 5
Linksys has been pricing this gear agressively and the router are in the cheap end of the draft 802.11n equipment.
Compared to WRT300N this router are about 300dkk cheaper and it males WRT150N an obvious choice.
The netcard are more moderately priced, but the the full solution are reasonably well priced.
